Just after 9pm, police and fire crews were called to a house on Hutchison Street following reports of flames and smoke coming from the windows.
Fire crews extinguished the blaze but the property was completely destroyed by the fire.
Fire Cause Investigators attended the scene on Sunday morning to determine how the fire started. Bystanders at the scene said the house was gutted within 7 minutes.
At one stage it was thought that a male had been trapped inside, although this later proved not to be the case.
A female was later charged with lighting the fire that destroyed the Hutchison Street property
