Update – Fatal shark attack on Yorke Peninsula. Sunday, 9 February 2014 6:38am
Police and Emergency Services crews will resume the search this morning for a 28-year-old man from Adelaide, who went missing yesterday, believed victim of a fatal shark attack at Goldsmith Beach on Yorke Peninsula.
At about midday, the man who was part of a group of divers spear-fishing at a popular area at Goldsmith Beach, south of Edithburgh, when witnesses report seeing a shark attack the man.
A search yesterday by Emergency Services failed to find any trace of the missing man.
The search will resume this morning from about 9am, including the use of police divers from the Water Operations Unit.
Saturday 8 February: Police and Emergency Services crews are currently searching for a missing man believed to be victim of a fatal shark attack at Goldsmith Beach on Yorke Peninsula.
At about midday on Saturday, the man who was part of a group spear-fishing at a popular area at Goldsmith Beach, south of Edithburgh, when witnesses report seeing a shark attack the man.
A search by friends was unable to locate the missing man and authorities were advised.
Police have been asking swimmers between Edithburgh and Port Moorowie on Yorke Peninsula to leave the water, following the search for the man believed to be victim of a shark attack at Goldsmith Beach.
Police and Emergency Services crews are currently searching the area of Goldsmith Beach, but no trace has been found of the 28-year-old man from Adelaide.
