Welcome to the first edition of the Coober Pedy Area School Community Chat Room. This is an exiting new forum which aims to provide the latest news on activities, achievements and issues within our school for the benefit of Students, Parents and the Community of Coober Pedy.

Catch up
July 2009:
• 12th – The third term school Busy Bee was held. Tasks completed included
o Pruning, reticulation and mulching of the front garden beds.
o Reticulation of the newly constructed Kitchen Garden beds at the rear of the school.
o Continued grounds clean up.
Many thanks to all those who attended, especially to Year 9/10 for the delicious morning tea.
• 27th – A meeting of our School Council. Among the issues raised were:
o New School Jacket
o Memorial Plaque
o Variety Bash Catering
o Website
o 50th Birthday Celebration
o Change to Professional development date.

August:
• 16th to 23rd – Book Fair at School Community Library.  Great Books at discounted prices on sale between the above dates.
• 19th  – School 50th Birthday Celebration Committee meeting School Library Board Room  7.30 pm (Add photo of committee)

What’s on:

September:

2nd _ 50th Anniversary committee meeting  Library Board Room 7.30 pm 9th   Whole school Assembly School Gym .  All parents and community members invited to attend.

23rd Whole School Sports Carnival School Oval. Starts at 8.45 a.m.   Come along and support your children’s house . Fire Red, Wind Blue, Earth Green.   BBQ Lunch at 12.35 pm   Volunteers required to help with the cooking and dish up.
