Macmahon Holdings Limited have been awarded $89 million contract for Stage Two of the Tiger Brennan Drive Extension Project in Darwin  which includes government project delivery costs along with the design and construction of 7.5 kilometres of road works.  It includes a four lane dual highway from Berrimah Road to the Stuart Highway, and a grade separated interchange with provision for pedestrians.
Macmahon which is currently completing Stage One of the project, will work with SKM to start the Stage Two detailed design process immediately. Construction is scheduled to get underway early next year to enable the project to be completed in 2010.
Macmahon will directly employ up to 150 people, with a focus on maximising Aboriginal employment  through a partnership with the Larrakia Development Corporation and the local Aboriginal community.

Macmahon has operated in the Northern Territory for more than 42 years and major projects have included the Alice Springs to Darwin Railway, the Darwin City Waterfront redevelopment, Blacktip gas project, Alcan Gove, Bradshaw Training Area and the Gemco tailings storage facility on Groote Eylandt. Macmahon also currently manages the Shoal Bay Landfill facility in Darwin.
