Port Lincoln police are advising the community to be aware that a white pointer shark has been seen in the marina.

This afternoon police were notified of the sighting, which took place on Thursday.

Police and Fisheries were also notified of another shark sighting on Thursday – of an 8-10ft white pointer about 500m off Kirton Point Jetty.

It is not known if both sightings were of the same shark.

Police would like users of the marina to be aware of the yesterday’s sighting.

For those residents living or holidaying along the coast, make this holiday a safe one.
