South Australian Police have advised that the Stuart Highway, approximately 5kms north of Pimba is closed to traffic due to a chemical incident.

Chemicals on board a truck are leaking with one believed to be hydrochloric acid.

The road is closed for safety reasons and to allow emergency services the chance to contain the leak and clean up.

At this time it is unknown how long the road will be closed.
