MAN MISSING NEAR GLENDAMBO – POLICE SEEK ASSISTANCE

Update: Police have since released that the missing man has returned to Glendambo safely, although suffering from dehydration after 7 hours in the scrub with temperatures in the high 30s.

Previously: Roxby Downs Police are seeking the assistance of the public to help identify and locate a man missing in the State’s Far North.  The man, believed to be aged in his early 30s, attended the Franklin Street Greyhound Bus depot in Adelaide and paid cash for a bus ticket to Glendambo.  The man gave his name as Shane Hooper, but no identification was sighted.

The man got off the bus at Glendambo, but seemed unfamiliar with the area.  He got back on the bus and asked to be dropped off 2km north of the town.  He was let off the bus at 2.30 am today, Tuesday 28 December.  He stated he was going to visit relatives.  The bus driver observed the man walk to the rear of the bus and then head west into the scrub. He has not been seen since.

Police are coordinating a search of the area.

The man was captured on CCTV at the Greyhound Bus depot in Port Augusta at about 9.30pm on Monday night.  He is described as aged in his early 30s, with an olive complexion and dark hair.  He was wearing a white jumper.
