The 2010 Opal Fashion Bash to be held in Townsville 8-10 April 2010, for the third year is only weeks away and is proudly sponsored by the opal industry.

The Opal Fashion Bash is a fantastic opportunity for any young aspiring models who would attend catwalk training classes and have the opportunity to win a modelling contract with Tamblyn’s Model Agency.

As the event progresses, all the entrants  grow in confidence, even if they are not all successful at this particular time.

This years’ Opal Fashion Bash will again include Miss Universe Australia Rachael Finch’s Rising Star Awards and NOMA will be supplying opal jewellery to the winners in two age divisions.

One of the most outstanding recipients of opal, Rachael Finch went onto win Miss Universe Australia in 2009 and came fourth in Miss Universe.

Other recipients have been successful in securing modelling contracts all over the world.

The National Opal Miners Association (NOMA) sponsorship plays an important role in introducing our national gemstone to young and up and coming Australians.

Opal wholesalers and retailers from the opal producing states of Australia donate opal jewellery.

NOMA sponsorship includes opal jewellery for three young model best dressed categories and the major winners; 2010 Model of the Year, Best Runway Model, Most Photogenic Model and Young Model of the Year.

NOMA also supplies an opal pendant to Miss Universe Australia entrant. For more information see – www.fashionbash.com.au.
