Far North Police are seeking the assistance of the public in attempting to locate a man who has been missing since early in January.
Gary David Finlay, 46 years, of Yalata was last seen at Mimili in the APY Lands on January 6 2009. Mr Finlay was seen to walk away from the Mimili community in a southerly direction towards the Indulkna to Fregon Road.
Police have received reports that he may have hitch hiked to various locations including Coober Pedy, Pt Augusta, Ceduna, Alice Springs, Wingelina, Blackstone, Warburton and Docker River. Police enquiries at these locations have proved unsuccessful.
Sergeant Rob Harding from Murputja Police says “Police hold fears for Mr Finlay’s safety and ask any member of the public who may have given Mr Finlay a lift since 6 January or who has any information in regards to his whereabouts to contact police urgently”.
Mr Finlay is Aboriginal, 65 kgs, medium build, 170 cm tall with short black curly hair, brown eyes and dark complexion.
