South Australian Police have release that at about 10.00 am today, Umuwa Police on the APY Lands attended a local community after receiving information that a person had allegedly been stabbed. When they arrived they discovered that a 44 year old man from that community had been stabbed and that he had since died.

 Local patrols arrested a 21 year old male from Port Augusta who has been taken to Marla Police Station for questioning in relation to the matter. Officers from Coober Pedy and Port Augusta CIB, Major Crime and Forensic Response Section are being flown to the community by police aircraft to assist in the investigation.
