Assistance sought in death at Erldunda
Police are investigating the suspicious death of a woman that occurred at the Erldunda Road House at some time during the evening of Thursday 13 November. Members from Imanpa Police Station were notified at 9:30 pm that the body of a female had been located on the drive way of the fuel station at the Road House.
Police are currently in attendance and have established a crime scene and Detectives and Crime Scene Examiners from Alice Springs will travel there this morning.
Erldunda is a remote roadstop in the Northern Territory on the 1500km stretch of the Stuart Highway from Adelaide to Alice Springs. It is the third roadhouse, fuel and accommodation stop north of Coober Pedy on the way to the Alice.
Motorists should be aware that they will not be able to purchase fuel at the Road House until approximately 1 pm until the scene is examined by police. Fuel can be purchased from Jims Place and Kulgera on the Stuart Highway and Mount Ebenezer and Curtain Springs on the Lasseter Highway.
Police are attempting to locate an alleged male offender and no further details are available at this time.
