Police from Major Crash Investigation Section flew up to Mimili in the State’s Far North on Tuesday to investigate a fatal car rollover. At 3 pm Monday afternoon a green Holden Commodore sedan rolled approximately 20 km north of Mimili. There were five occupants in the car and sadly an 11 month old child died at the scene. A woman was taken to the Alice Springs Hospital with serious injuries. The driver, a 23 year old Mimili man, and the other two male passengers, were not seriously injured.
There were no other vehicles involved and further details with be provided once Major Crash have conducted their preliminary investigation and advised all relatives. Residents in far northern towns extend their deepest sympathies to families and friends
This crash brings the States road toll to 76 and it was 94 this time last year.
