North East Local Service area Police after coordinating a search with other Emergency Services for a missing 7 year old boy on a Private property near Terowie 221 km north of Adelaide and 20km south of Peterborough in the State’s north, have found the boy in scrubland.
The 7 year old who wandered from the campsite, is reported to be in good condition and not needing any special treatment.
The boy who was camping with relatives left the campsite at about 7am this morning – a search was conducted by relatives and friends but when the search failed to find the boy at 10.30 Police were notified.
Senior Constable First Class Vanessa Kelly of Police Media SA said, “the boy was only about 3 kilometres from the campsite and had chased his dog and became lost when he tried to return. Both boy and dog are well”.
Police are appreciative of the combined effort of CES, SES and other services who helped with the search.
The Adelaide Bank Rescue Helicopter with Star Group officers on board assisted in the search, about 30 km North East of Terowie in rocky scrubland.
