
The Ghan is looking for friendly and well-presented Coober Pedy locals to showcase their town to our guests. For a period of time we are offering fully paid HR ‘heavy rigid open’ vehicle licensing for Coober Pedy residents who are interested in creating a career driving day trip coaches for the iconic Ghan rail journey as it visits CP.
The successful candidates will be paid to travel to Adelaide to complete licensing over two days and return to CP to undertake full training on driving, tour guiding, coach presentation and other guest services.
From December to March there will be opportunity to drive coaches on tour in Victoria, covering areas such as Stawell, Grampians, Inverleigh, Golden Plains Shire and attractions in Melbourne.
These positions are central to ensuring a high level of service delivery for guests during off train excursions. Drivers will be responsible for the complete operation and safety of the coach. You will be a confident individual with excellent communication skills to actively engage with our guests, ensuring an excellent guest experience.
There are three positions available: HR Open Licensing will be completed in Adelaide over two days, we will pay all licensing, travel and accommodation requirements for the right people.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Deliver high standard of customer service to all passengers / customers, creating a positive experience on every service
· Comply with company and department safety policies & procedures
· Consistently ensure the safety of yourself, your passengers and your vehicle
· Provide interactive and engaging day tours for guests
· Clean and maintain the inside and outside of Coach, and assist with cleaning and detailing, of other coaches to prepare for next day tours.
· You will work a varied roster of 5 days on, 2 off
In addition, we expect you to be able to manage your time well and conduct pre-departure safety checks.
Meals during your rostered days are paid.
To be successful in this role you must have or be willing to obtain:
· South Australian Driver Accreditation
· Working with Children (Employment) clearance
· Current Senior First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain one)
· Satisfactory national criminal history check
· An outstanding safety focus, including basic fatigue management competency and a commitment to your own fitness for duty
· Experience delivering excellent customer service
· Exceptional personal presentation and ‘can do’ attitude.
