HEALTH WARNING: RECALL OF METTWURST AND PEPPERONI

Following food safety checks by the Department of Primary Industries and Regions
South Australia (PIRSA), a number of mettwursts and pepperoni from Linke’s Central
Meats have been recalled and SA Health is advising people not to consume them.

While SA Health has not received any reports of illness associated with these
smallgoods, PIRSA is currently investigating as routine food safety checks have been
unable to verify the safety of Linke’s Central Meats manufacturing processes for these
mettwurst and pepperoni products.

It is only the mettwursts and pepperoni listed below that are subject to this recall.
Linke’s Central Meats can be found at South Australian Foodlands, the Loxton IGA and
independent smallgoods stores.

Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) will be issuing a nationwide recall
for the product and further information about the recall can be found on the FSANZ
website.

Anyone with Linke’s Central Meats mettwurst or pepperoni should dispose of it or
return to point of sale for a refund.

The potentially affected products are:
Product Name Weight Description Date Marking
Linke’s Garlic Mettwurst 270g 500g
Linke’s Plain Mettwurst  600g 1.3kg
Linke’s Brandy Mettwurst 2.4kg

All in Linke’s Central Meats casing
