FOR ANYONE TRAVELING OR WORKING IN THE FAR NORTH DURING THIS TIME:
Expected Cancellation of Exclusion Period – Amber Zone 2 – from 17 February 2025 to 2 March 2025 inclusive
The Department of Defence is expected to cancel the following exclusion period in the Woomera Prohibited Area (WPA):
– Amber Zone 2 that was scheduled from 17 February to 2 March 2025 inclusive.
A legislative instrument is expected to be processed and published on the Federal Register of Legislation www.legislation.gov.au. When this is complete, all stakeholders will be updated with another email and the exclusion period will be removed from the WPA website.
When the legislative instrument is finalised and notification is sent, permit holders will no longer be required to evacuate the Amber Zone 2 area during this period. Standard access conditions continue to apply for the WPA.
Some areas within the WPA also require separate access permission from Traditional Owners and conservation parks. Please refer to the information at: www.defence.gov.au/bases-locations/sa/woomera.
A map of the zones within the Woomera Prohibited Area is attached for reference.
