Independent Member of Parliament Geoff Brock has today announced he will contest the upcoming South Australian State Election, reaffirming his commitment to strong, independent representation for regional South Australia in the electorate of
Stuart.
Mr Brock, the sitting local Member, said the recent redistribution has brought change to the electorate, creating both continuity and new opportunity. “While the boundaries have changed, my focus hasn’t,” Mr Brock said.
“I remain committed to listening to local communities, standing up for regional South Australia, and delivering practical outcomes, free from party politics.”

Mr Brock acknowledged the long-standing support he has received from communities he has represented previously, while also welcoming those towns and districts that are now part of the electorate of Stuart for the first time.
“To those who have supported me over many years, I thank you sincerely. And to the communities I’m looking forward to representing for the first time, I’m keen to listen, learn, and work alongside you.”
As an independent, Mr Brock said his approach has always been guided by local priorities rather than party agendas. “Being independent means putting communities first, working constructively with all sides of Parliament to secure real outcomes for regional areas.”

On the 18th and 19th of January Geoff Brock held a second Listening Post Meeting at Coober Pedy and met with a good number of residents from near and far.
Part of Sunday was spent touring areas of the town with members of the Coober Pedy Community Alliance to appease local residents who believe that a dedicated Local Member might have some influence in helping to see restored, areas of the town that have been turned into a ghetto due to squatters occupying and then demolishing properties that have been vacated.
The Community Alliance has asked Mr. Brock to look into which department(s) may be responsible to assist in putting a stop to squatting on private properties where owners live interstate and are unaware.
Mr Brock said his campaign would focus on accessibility, accountability, and maintaining a strong local presence across the electorate.
“Our regions deserve a voice that is steady, experienced, and genuinely local. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together, and I’m ready to keep working for all our communities.”
The South Australian State Election will be held on March 21,2026.
